Hi! Im Jo!
Im an artist and currently a resident at Ghost ink Company, where I get to work alongside some of the most amazing, talented, and kind hearted artists.
I honestly never expected to become a tattoo artist. I went to college studying Criminal Justice, then had a phase where I was making music and singing, but finally after some thinking as well as some convincing, from the support of my family and friends, Ive come to realize that I needed to go back and reignite that love I had making artwork like when I was a kid. I changed course and well... here I am :)
I did my first tattoo on a client the summer of 2020 and have been in love ever since.
I'm grateful to say I've done an array of tattoo styles. However, Id say the style I'm more focused on now is surrealism illustrative mashups and realism color work.
What inspires you?
I am inspired a lot by my children as well as things I enjoy from my childhood, A lot of what I create always has some kind of cutesy element to it, and all my work is color. As a kid I was always into video games, I loved to draw critters and characters, and always believed in magic and fantasy creatures, which is why I created some of my work such as my water elementals. Im such a huge foodie and have always had a sweet tooth and try to create pieces that show that, not to mention candyland was one of my favorite board games as a kid. A big inspiration to me is also work by Lisa Frank, it's just so colorful and cute and her color pallets are always so beautiful
