Jo charges a flat rate per session
This all accounts for any adjustments for the design, stenciling, and of course tattoo time.
(Check "Rates" page for pricing)Please read this section very carefully…
The Booking Fee will reserve your booked date/s and it will go toward your overall session for the day. They are required in order to lock in an appointment date (Whether its a new session or a continued session)
Booking Fees are non-refundable, so please be absolutely sure you are ready to move forward before considering booking a tattoo appointmentThe Fee will be forfeit if any appointment date is cancelled.
Non-Emergency reschedules less than 3days prior to your appointment are forfeit and will require another deposit to rebook.
In the case a reschedule request is due to being ill or a medical emergency or financial hardship, I cannot refund the booking fee but you can absolutely reschedule the appointment and have the deposit credited toward the new appointment date for when you are eligible to do so.
However, a second reschedule request in a row will result in forfeiting your deposit regardless of the situation. You will then need to put down another deposit in order to lock in a new appointment date. -
Jo will create your custom design based off of the information she collects from your consultation, the outcome of the design is her own artistic interpretation of your story and meaning behind the tattoo.
Option 1:
You and Jo will discuss your tattoo idea via scheduled zoom consultation.
‘Jo will work on your design on her own time and you will only see the design on the day of the appointment.
‘This option is free, however, if you’d like to make any changes to the design it will run into session time and price meaning that this could turn a half day session into a full day session.
option 2:
You and Jo will discuss your tattoo idea via scheduled zoom consultation.
Jo will then work on your design and send out a rough draft of your design the week prior to your appointment date. From there you can give your input to request any changes or ask any questions. After which Jo will finish your design and reveal it on the day of your appointment. This option is $250.
however after the finalized design, if you want to make last minute adjustments during the session it will run into session time and price, meaning this could turn a half day session into a full day session.
The price for this option is a separate fee and does not count toward the overall tattoo balance. It is also non-refundable even if you end up not moving forward with the tattoo. -
Hydration & Moisturizing — Its recommended to drink lots of water because in general your body needs it but also because it will help your from feeling faint during your tattoo appointment and also helps your skin.
I would recommend moisturizing your skin at least 1-2 weeks prior to your appointment, helps so much with ink application but also your skin will heal better as well.
Just avoid moisturizing on the day of your appointment.
Rest — Nothing is worse than trying to sit through a tattoo feeling totally exhausted. Please try and get a goodnights rest prior to your appointment day.
Shave and Exfoliation — We recommend shaving 2-3 times per week leading up to your tattoo. This will help prepare your skin for your tattoo session and it makes it a lot easier for your artist to work on the area. Please be careful as to avoid nicking the skin. Tattooing over any damaged skin may interfere with how the tattoo heals.
Exfoliating along with moisturizing will help your pores by reducing the workload.

Jo asks that new clients arrive about 10-15 minutes early to fill out paperwork.
Please come prepared to sit in the chair all day.Bring proper ID
Dress comfortably
Eat a good meal before your appointment
Please bring a lunch, snacks, and drinks with you to your appointment.
Jo encourages you to bring earphones if you want to listen to music, podcasts, or watch a movie during your appointment.
Jo encourages you to bring a sweater as some clients tend to get cold during their appointment
Don’t:
Show up late
Jo shows up early and prepares for your session and would like the same respect in return. Please show up on time. If you are not present within 30 minutes of the appointment time without any communication, it is considered a no-show. In that case you no longer have an appointment for the day. Jo understands that there are unforeseen circumstances but as long as there is communication Jo will work with you through it.
Tanning, chemical peels, sunburns, major cuts or scrapes in the area being tattooed within a month prior to your session
freshly damaged skin cannot be worked on as it will not heal properly. If Jo notices any damaged skin when you come in for your session we will need to reschedule. You will forfeit your deposit and will need to put down another deposit for the reschedule.
Extreme workouts a couple days prior to appointment date.
to prevent unnecessary swelling and soreness. Same reason to avoid extreme workouts afterwards as well.
Bring your entire family and friends unless they are getting tattooed.
Due to limited space, Jo allows one person for support to accompany you to your appointment.
Apply numbing products on the tattoo area.
Jo is very particular with what she uses for numbing as most products affect the skin as well as saturation and is unsure how the products will affect the healing process.
Come in under the influence of any drugs or alcohol.
You will be sent home, forfeit your deposit, and will need to pay another deposit for a rescheduled appointment. For pain, Advil and Tylenol are acceptable and absolutely helps during the session as well.Come to your appointment with poor hygiene.
Keep in mind, you and Jo will be in close proximity during the appointment. Good hygiene is always appreciated.
Aftercare
How Do I Care for a New Tattoo?
-
I like to use the second-skin from the brand, Recoveryderm Shield.
I typically recommend my clients to wear this between 1-5 days.
24 hours — You might notice the bandage may have filled up with plasma creating an ink sac. This is totally normal. After the 24 hours are up, (with clean hands) carefully remove the second skin, gently clean the area of all plasma and blood. Pat dry and allow the tattoo a few minutes to breathe, then apply a new second skin bandage.
Wear the replacement bandage for another 3-4 days.
Removing the Replacement — With clean hands remove the bandage and gently clean away any plasma and blood. Pat dry.
Moisturize the skin — Here you can switch to using unscented lotion. Continue this over the next couple of weeks. The hydration will help your skin heal.
Allergic to Second Skin—If you have seriously sensitive skin or allergies to adhesives or bandages I would advise against using any second skin bandages as it can irritate the tattoo and may affect the way the tattoo heals. (please read the next section on how to take care of your tattoo)
-
Saran-Wrap— If you chose to opt out of using second skin, I will wrap you with good-old-fashioned, Saran Wrap, please only wear this for up to 1 hour. You will then proceed with the aftercare.
Wash Your Tattoo—After wearing the wrap for an hour, use a gentle, fragrance-free, anti-bacterial liquid soap and with lukewarm water, gently wash your tattoo of all plasma and blood, then pat it dry with a clean towel
Do not scrub the skin or rub it dry, as this can damage the healing area.
Avoid harsh soaps or exfoliating products.
Lukewarm water is ideal. Hot water may irritate the skin, while ice-cold water can slow the healing process.
Wash your tattoo gently twice a day for the first two weeks to remove plasma, excess ink, and bacteria.
Make sure to Moisturize—After cleaning your tattoo, using a moisturizer is a crucial step in tattoo aftercare.
Please only apply a thin layer of moisturizer two to three times daily, as over-applying can suffocate the skin, trap excess moisture, and slow the healing process.
Avoid petroleum-based products, as they can trap bacteria and hinder healing. Instead, opt for tattoo-specific balms or products containing ingredients like shea butter, jojoba oil, or aloe vera, which are safe, nourishing, and effective for the healing process.
Recommended brands for ointment— Madrabbit, HustleButter, Aquaphor, TattooGoo
Once your tattoo is healed (usually after two to four weeks), switch to using lotion - Madrabbit has lotions, Lubriderm is another great brand too
-
Harsh Aftercare Products — Vaseline, Petroleum Jelly, A&D
Apply Chemicals to the tattoo — Hydrogen Peroxide, Iodine, Alcohol-based products
Swimming and Submersion — Pools, Hot Tubs, Baths, and natural bodies of water expose your fresh tattoo to bacteria and chemicals, which can lead to infection. Avoid swimming for the first two to three weeks or until the scabs have fully healed. Showering is safe as long as you’re gentle and avoid soaking the area.
Workout — Working out can introduce bacteria to your fresh tattoo through sweat, overstretch healing skin, and cause scabs to tear. Wait 48 hours before doing light activities like walking or cycling. For the first four to six weeks, avoid strenuous exercises and clean your tattoo immediately after any physical activity.
Tanning & Sun exposure — Your new tattoo is fragile and sensitive to UV rays. Sun exposure can cause fading and interfere with healing. Avoid direct sunlight for the first two to four weeks, and cover your tattoo with loose clothing if you need to be outdoors.
Picking your scabs & peeling tattoo —Scabbing is a natural part of the healing process. Picking at scabs can pull ink out of your skin, leading to patchy spots and scarring. Resist the urge to scratch, and use your moisturizer to calm any itching.
